Intrigued by dichroic glass jewelry and glass fusing?  Amazed by the colors? Curious as
to what it’s all about?? Come and take a class!

Come and join us for a class of fun and creativity.  But beware........... it’s addictive!!

In my classes we will explore the possibilities of glass fusing using dichroic glass. 
Techniques will include glass cutting safety, compatibility and design.  We will start with
basic design and begin to add patterns, decoration and various inclusions. Emphasis
will be on creative expression while using sound methods and techniques. Each
student will complete the class with a selection of jewelry pieces including pendants,
earrings, brooches, cabochons and jewelry components which may be used in other
jewelry making projects.

CLASSES BEGINNING CONTINUING THROUGHOUT THE FALL

THERE WILL BE NO REGULAR CLASS OR OPEN STUDIO ON THURSDAY NOVEMBER 22, 2007

Tuesday evenings 7:30 - 9:30 pm

Thursday mornings :  10:30 am to 12:30 PM.

No registration required.  Come as you wish.

Classes are $25 each or pre-pay for 5 classes and receive 6. 6 classes for $125.  Additional fees include the purchase of glass and firing fee of $.10 per gram.  Glass will be fired and available the following week.

Ongoing classes will continue as before. Beginners are welcome at ongoing classes and no registration is required at this time.

Jewelry findings are an additional cost.

THERE WILL BE NO OPEN STUDIO TIME ON NOVEMBER 22, 2007.
Please note that Open Studio is designed for independent study.  Tools and equipment will be available for use during Open Studio Time.  A monitor will be available to aid students in purchasing supplies and answering simple questions ONLY.  There will be NO INSTRUCTION during Open Studio Time.

SLICE AND BAKE!

2 Sessions:  Dates to be announced

A continued exploration of the possibilities in Dichroic Glass jewelry making.
The process of creating a thicker slab of glass that will be fired and then cut
using a wet tile saw and grinder for shaping.  The cut pieces will them be fire
polished.  Finished project will consist of a series of sliced pieces to be used
as pendants, earrings or cabachons for use in other projects.  Explore a new
and interesting technique to spark creativity. Each student will be required
to use the power tile saw. Pervious glass fusing experience is required. 
Material and firing fees additional (approx $45 - 60).

BEGINNER GLASS SLUMPING 

2 Sessions A Dates to be announced

Students will explore design, color and decorative techniques used in making
functional glass.  Techniques include advanced cutting, using frit, coldworking,
using dams for thicker pieces and adding tack fused decoration for texture. 
Discussion of firing schedules, annealing and use of kiln wash.  Students
will complete a bowl or plate. Material and firing fees additional (approx $45 - 60).
